Sounds-Write trained
Literacy support is structured and taught explicitly, starting with the sounds in speech before moving onto the written word.
I graduated from Curtin University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science (Speech Pathology). I have spent every year since connected to the field, because this is the work I love. Building independence and confidence with language is my passion.
Since 2020 I have worked in private paediatric practice, supporting children with language delays, speech sound difficulties, reading and spelling challenges, and social communication needs. From October 2021 until late 2022 I was on maternity leave. When I returned, I was able to work in a range of speech pathology positions, gaining experience in the adult disability sector, which continued to shape how I think about communication.
Communication is bigger than words. It is access, independence and dignity, at every age.
I use assessment to understand what is happening, and I will always explain my reasoning to you in plain language. If I am not the right person to help, I will say so and point you towards someone who is.
I run a mobile practice from Kelmscott because therapy works best where life happens.
